This 18th century characterful cottage is set within a terrace of properties in the village of Kingston. From its hilltop position there are fantastic views over the surrounding countryside and Corfe Castle. The castle itself is one of the area s most popular attractions and is cared for by the National Trust. The village is well worth exploring too as it has quaint streets lined with period cottages tea rooms and a choice of pubs. Heading east you will find the traditional seaside town of Swanage which has something for everyone including a sandy beach and bustling high street. This property enjoys a quiet rural location in the mid-Dorset countryside in what is known as Thomas Hardy Country thanks to the author s connections to the area. It is certainly the perfect location for authors to concentrate on their new novel or artists to settle down and produce their next masterpiece. The town of Sturminster Newton is just five miles north of the property a pretty town which straddles the River Stour and was immortalised in Thomas Thomas Hardy s poem On Sturminster Bridge. To the south of the property the town of Blandford Forum is an attractive town which makes a lovely place to spend an afternoon sampling the wares of one of the town s many tearooms and browsing the shops.
