Ideally located just a 10-minute drive or bus ride from the beautiful ancient walled city of York and perfectly positioned as a base from which to explore the stunning Yorkshire Dales. York itself offers an eclectic mix of pubs restaurants and tea rooms the famous Minster and quirky cobbled streets leading to many historical monuments and excellent shopping. The cottage is also perfect for venturing further afield towards the Yorkshire coast the Dales visiting lovely market towns or walking the North York Moors. There are a huge choice of attractions close by ranging from National Trust properties such as the Treasurer s House and Beningbrough Hall to fun-filled family days out in Go Ape in Dalby Forest beautiful Castle Howard and the York Maze. Venturing through the prettiest entrance into the cosy lounge you ll find a woodburner and lovely chesterfield sofa to relax and plan your adventures play board games or watch a film on the smart TV. Heading through to the open-plan kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob dishwasher fridge/freezer and microwave where you can cook a meal together and to enjoy round the dining table. There is a utility room just off the kitchen with a washing machine. Heading upstairs you will find two double bedrooms one with French inspired Louis XV solid wood bed and an impressive four-poster in the other. Both rooms have co-ordinated furniture and storage to reflect this quaint French era. Quality mattresses and bed linen offer a comfortable night s sleep. There is also a modern bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC on this floor. Heading outside you will find a lovely enclosed patio area with gate leading to a fantastic secret garden complete with summer house garden furniture and charcoal bbq. Reached up a long tree-lined driveway this beautiful property provides the perfect getaway for families and larger groups. Once you enter you ll never want to leave but if you can drag yourself away then there a day trips aplenty on the doorstep. Robin Hood s Bay or Whitby with its historic Abbey and blue flag beach are about an hours drive away. Alternatively a day out in York provides something for everyone with fabulous shopping the stunning cathedral Railway Museum or Jorvik Viking Centre just a few of the great places to visit. Within walking distance from the property through the private wood is a path leading to Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Forces Memorial. Also just a short distance away is the York Maze the largest maze in the UK. An imposing entrance hall welcomes you to into the house venture to the left and you ll find the formal drawing room with plenty of fun board games and small pool table to enjoy kick off your shoes and sink into the comfortable chesterfield sofas in front of the impressive open fire. To the right you will find the fabulous open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area where the attention to design and detail is superb. The kitchen area is well-equipped with two electric ovens and an induction hob steamer oven built in microwave two dishwashers fridge with ice compartment island and breakfast bar. There is a cosy seating area in front of the woodburner where you can enjoy afternoon tea and plan your adventures or simply enjoy watching a film on the TV/DVD. Leading through the archway takes you to the formal dining area where you can enjoy a lovely meal. Heading back to the entrance hall you will find a separate WC and staircase leading up to the first floor. the first floor consists of two king-size bedrooms one accessed under a low ish beam two twin bed rooms (one of which can be made up as a zip and link super king on request). Also on this floor is one bathroom with shower over the bath and WC (which can be locked off and used as an ensuite bathroom to the adjacent king-size bedroom) and a shower room with WC. Heading outside there is an extensive garden complete with outdoor WIFI summer house with patio furniture for al fresco dining and a charcoal BBQ for those warm summer evenings. The city of York boasts an abundance of things to do so whether its history shopping or culture York really does have it all. The National Railway museum and York Art Gallery are a must see. Visit the renowned Betty s Tea Rooms Clifford s Tower or take a walk around the City Walls enjoy a riverboat cruise down the River Ouse and see the city from a different perspective. Due to the location of the cottage York can easily be reached by foot either taking in the sights or by taking a relaxing stroll down by the river to the city centre. The property is situated near Homestead Park which has a large play park for children and lovely gardens to relax in with a picnic. The shopping destinations at the Designer Outlet and Monks Cross are only a short drive away. The cottage also has easy access for venturing further afield towards the Yorkshire coast the Dales visiting lovely market towns or walking in the North Yorkshire Moors. An array of National Trust properties are on the doorstep in addition to Goddards Benningborough Hall Dalby Forest Go Ape and the beautiful Castle Howard. Stepping into the cottage the spacious lounge/diner welcomes you with open arms. The steep winding staircase takes you to the first floor which offers a stylish double bedroom and additional dressing room with WC. Taking another set of steep winding stairs which leads to the converted loft space which is a twin bedroom. It is worth noting that the ceiling is sloped so ceiling height is restricted in places. Outside there is a fully enclosed courtyard garden with patio outdoor seating for those summer evenings when you want to stay at home. There is off-road parking to the rear of the property for one car space is limited so it is not recommended for large cars.
