In addition to the guides and maps at the cottage, the owner is an Army and Civilian Mountain Leader and happy to offer advice on rambling and walking activities. A short walk from the cottage takes you to the Glaslyn Osprey Centre where you can watch these spectacular birds raise their young. You can also grab a snack and a coffee while waiting to take a scenic ride on the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog narrow gauge railways. Or travel up the coast to the pretty seaside village of Moelfre with its strong lifeboat connections, and amazing chip shop. Ty Mawr, on the south east corner of Anglesey, is in a great spot just a short drive to plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Menai Bridge is just five minutes along the coast, and Beaumaris is the same in the opposite direction. Be sure to visit the Janet Bell Gallery in Beaumaris and the superb Central Bakery. Menai Bridge also has lots of shops, cafes and award winning restaurants. Just a hop and skip from the house, The Gazelle is a really great spot to sit and watch the boats bob up and down while enjoying a drink or a bite to eat. In the opposite direction, you are in Llandegfan where there is a local convenience store.

As you drive towards South Stack, taking in the breathtaking views of the ocean, the holiday excitement and anticipation grows. As the layout of the house allows open living, the airy, well equipped kitchen will help making catering in doors, at the family dining table or outside pleasurable and easy to do. If the weather's not so hospitable, enjoy the comfortable sofas and divide your attention between the wall mounted TV with Sky Movies and Sports and the spectacle outside the french windows. Blissfully secure. Have we mentioned the views yet? You can stroll up to the iconic South Stack Lighthouse, and if you're feeling energetic, take the 400 steps down the cliffs (and back!). The aerial acrobatics of the seabirds is always a good reason to stop for a breather! The RSPB Reserve here is home to many rare breeding birds, including the characterful puffin. You are just a short drive away from many wonderful beaches. Porthdafarch Beach is one of our favourites, with sheltered, safe swimming. You could even opt to board a ferry for a day out in Dublin if you fancy! If your party number more than 8, do not despair, neighbouring Ysbryd Y Mynydd sleeps 4 which has recently won a SYKES GEM GOLD AWARD: BEST IN NORTH WALES 2019. Wow, what a view! This sea front holiday cottage has been carefully designed and furnished by the owners to create a modern, spacious but cosy holiday house. Designed to maximise the amazing sea views, this is an upside down house with 2 beautiful king sized bedrooms downstairs, one with en-suite and a family bathroom. A large hallway with plenty of storage cupboards with stairs leading up to a wonderful open living area comprising of kitchen, dining & living room with vaulted ceiling and underfloor heating for those cooler evenings. "A cool, contemporary holiday house with amazing sea views and only a 30 second stroll to the beach as well as a short stroll to plenty of great restaurants, shops & cafés!" Patio doors lead onto a large veranda with uninterrupted sea views straight out over Cardigan Bay! The perfect place to sip a cool glass of wine and watch the sun go down over the beach. If you can drag yourself away from the wonderful views, you can stroll along the promenade towards the castle, wander down the coastal path which is almost on your doorstep, stopping on the way for a delicious ice cream from Cadwalader's, or meander around the shops and cafés on the high street which are within easy walking distance. In fact, you could always park up the car when you arrive and leave it there - so much to do right on the doorstep!

This delightful, traditional Welsh cottage, in the south east corner of Anglesey, stands in its own enclosed garden and has fantastic, peaceful views over fields towards the Menai Straits and the mountains. "Dear little Ty Hir, a favourite with many guests. A traditional Welsh Cottage with fantastic views. As one guest said 'Not really a holiday cottage, more a home.'" Ty Hir holiday cottage is situated on a quiet lane which has easy access to plenty of foot paths and cycling routes nearby. The village of Llangoed, which has it's own shop and post office, is a 5-minute walk away. A short drive away is Beaumaris, which is full of interesting places to visit. It has a splendid castle with swans on the moat, a gaol and a great variety of tempting shops, galleries as well as some of the best eating places on Anglesey. You can even walk to Lleiniog beach in approximately 20-30 minutes - the beach has free parking and no dog restrictions.
