This romantic bolthole has recently been renovated yet still retains a lot of traditional Welsh character. The single-storey stone barn has high ceilings exposed beams and is tastefully decorated throughout. The kitchen area has all of the amenities you should require as well as plenty of surface space to prepare and cook meals. Once complete you can enjoy the food at the farmhouse-style table and chairs. From the kitchen there are two stone steps into the living area which is bright and has windows all around so you can admire the views from the comfortable leather sofas and chairs. Llangynidr is a charming village set between Brecon (10.5 miles north-west) and Abergavenny (11 miles to the east). The village is set on the banks of the Usk with the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal rising through five locks nearby. Llangynidr has a couple of good pubs a shop and a cafe and makes a great base for walkers and cyclists exploring the surrounding Brecon Beacons National Park. Local attractions include the Blaen-y-Glyn waterfalls (11 miles) Tretower Castle (4.5 miles) Llangorse Lake (7 miles) and Cantref Adventure Farm (9 miles). There are plenty of picturesque towns and villages in the region including Crickhowell (5 miles) Talybont (4 miles) and Brynmawr (9 miles) all offering some excellent places to eat and drink.
