The cottage is located in the peaceful hamlet of Bronydd just 2.5 miles from Hay on Wye by car or 30-40 mins walk directly from the cottage on the Offas dyke footpath through fields and along the banks of the River Wye. Hay is a vibrant cultural market town famed for the annual book festival. With a castle and small independent cinema Hay has an excellent selection of quirky shops cafes bars and restaurants along with a weekly farmers market (Thursdays) showcasing the seasonal local produce cheese and crafts. In the warmer weather you can enjoy paddling on The Warren the local beach on the banks of the river or explore the area by pony trekking renting a kayak or bikes (tandems too!) For walkers you are well served with immediate access onto the Offa s Dyke footpath from the cottage and for the more adventurous there s Hay Bluff and Twmpa and the path along the Hatterrall ridge. Although spoilt for choice for a quieter easier walk but still with spectacular views the roundabout walk on the Begwnns hills above Clyro is a good one to start with.
