ADDITIONAL GUESTS: Across two fields the there is a main farmhouse and a self contained barn, both restored with every luxury in mind, if your party is larger than 8 you can also book the farm house which is called Great Escape Farm and sleeps 10 with 2 double sofa beds, so could sleep 14 on top of the 8 in the huts. The farm house would need to be booked separate see costs reference Great Escape Farm 42856. HOT TUB: Use of the private wood fired hot tub, situated streamside beneath the trees, is an optional extra. It is charged at 150 for any stay duration. COOKING: The Utility Hut boasts a "proper" kitchen and comes complete with wood fired Esse stove, small fridge, toaster, kettle, heaps of pots, pans and plates. Hot and cold running water, as well as all fuel provided. Outside is a great open fireplace, perfect for getting together around with a large firepit at one end and barbeque at the other, as well as an enormous canopied dining table. There is a generous supply of barbeque equipment and fuel on arrival, as well as plenty of wood. KEEPING CLEAN: The Utility Hut is cleverly designed with one half containing a proper shower room, with hot and cold running water, a loo, shower and basin. GREEN CREDENTIALS: The huts are off grid and fitted with solar panels and wind turbines as well as having wood fired heating and cooking facilities. Eco friendly products are provided for cleaning and washing up too. There is no phone signal directly by the huts, although a short walk up the lane will find signal for most networks. ACCESS: As the huts are off grid to get to them you will need to walk down a track from the dedicated parking area. As the track is steep we recommend bringing bags that are easy to carry however a wheelbarrow is provided to make transporting your things a little easier. PETS: 2 dogs welcome, however must be kept on a lead outside due to nearby livestock. Dogs not allowed on the furnishings, or on beds. If this is ignored an extra cleaning charge could be applied. Secluded converted henhouse set in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Country and mountain walks are right on your doorstep with the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid providing an amazing backdrop. Three miles to the delightful historic town of Abergavenny with an eclectic mix of shops pubs and restaurants with regular food festivals and markets to enjoy. Visit nearby galleries museums and historic castles at Grosmont White Castle and Raglan. Interesting days out at Blaenavon Iron Works and The Big Pit or perhaps try star gazing at the Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre. There are plenty of activities to enjoy including riding golf kayaking on the Usk and Wye or a visit to Hay-on-Wye the town of books which is within easy reach. Entering into the property the interior is a marvellous surprise with a light and airy feel achieved with a contemporary finish following a conversion in 2017. Step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner the double height ceiling adds to the spacious feel of this impressive room. There are two leather sofas alongside a large coffee table to play games or just watch the Smart TV. Beyond there is a kitchen with electric oven and induction hob microwave fridge and dishwasher the washing machine. This welcoming space also has the dining area with a marvellous table and benches and bi-fold doors leading to the outside world. All laid out across the ground floor there are two bedrooms a master king-size with en-suite shower room with WC and a twin bedroom (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) with an en-suite bathroom with WC. All in all a fabulous and warming environment with the benefit of underfloor heating making this a super family or couples retreat at any time of year. Outside there is a large private enclosed garden with patio area with furniture and lawn beyond. There is ample private parking adjacent to the property. This semi rural cottage enjoys a lovely location on the Gower Peninsula and yet is just five miles from Swansea city centre where visitors can enjoy the city s wide range of shops restaurants or visit the 12th century castle. The Mumbles makes a great place for a day trip with its Victorian pier seafront eateries and traditional craft workshops. Seaside lovers will find themselves spoilt for choice as the area is awash with wide sandy beaches secluded bays and picturesque rocky coves. Of course the area s most well-known son was the poet Dylan Thomas and those with an interest in the literary heritage can follow in his footsteps perhaps by taking a visit to his birthplace in the Swansea suburbs or travelling a little further afield to the Laugharne to the secluded boathouse where he wrote many of his best-loved poems. (Please check admittance for the various attractions). At the heart of this cottage guests will find the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where guests can relax in front of the TV/DVD or gather around the table and enjoy chatting over long lunches. The kitchen area is tucked away in the corner and is equipped with an oven hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a convenient cloakroom with a WC on the ground floor whilst the two bedrooms can be found upstairs on the first floor.
