The spa town of Finsterbergen is located amidst the famous Thüringer woods on a healthy height from 450 until 700 metres above sea level. There is no passing traffic or industry in the village and it is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. Famous walking routes, such as the Rennsteig, are within close vicinity, but also the abundance of less-known routes are definitely worth it. For day trips in the area, the culturally and historically interesting cities of Erfurt, Eisenach and Weimar are particularly recommended, but also Jena and Gotha are worth a visit. The partially detached Ferienhaus Kliem enjoys a quiet location at the edge of the forest and offers a view over the rock formation of Hainfels. The valley of the Emsetal sits at the foot of the Grosser Inselsberg just a few kilometres from the Rennsteig trail. The village of Fischbach, population 500, is situated in a diverse upland region in the middle of the Thuringian Forest, far from the tourist crowds. This ground floor apartment has a separate entrance and is located in a newly remodelled half-timbered house. The parquet floors in the spacious, bright rooms have been restored. The flat also has an outdoor seating area. There's a grass play area with a swing and barbecue facility. Several hiking and cycling paths run right past the property. In the near vicinity you'll find numerous sports and leisure activities. It is also a perfect setting for a winter holiday. A sledging hill is in close proximity to our property. Sledges are available for our guests. Lots of winter sports activities (tobogganing, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing) are offered in the nearby surroundings.
