You'll stay in a simply decorated apartment in a larger complex with a spacious, shared garden with trees that provide the necessary shade. There are sliding doors to the terrace, and there's a view of the pool. The apartment is located at the ground floor, first or second floor. After a six hundred meter walk, you'll reach the beach of Calella de Palafrugell. But you can of course also go for a swim in the spacious, shared pool. Llafranc lies 1200 m away and also has a gorgeous beach. These towns belong, together with Tamariu (6 km), to the most beautiful spots of the Costa Brava. These fishing towns (without high-rise buildings) are situated in beautiful bays with golden beaches and have rocky coasts overgrown with pine trees; definitely worth a picture or two. Via a winding coastal route with gorgeous panoramic views you'll reach Begur (12 km), a medieval village with Cuban influences. After the inhabitants tried to find their fortune on Cuba (and succeeded), they returned and left their marks.

The house is located in a natural woodland setting 1.5k from the coast. The closest beaches are Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell. The beaches can be accessed on foot or by bike via the local paths. In Llafranc, you can hire bicycles, paddles, kayaks and boats without the need for a licence. For swimming and snorkelling enthusiasts, there are sea lanes "Vías Bravas" with different routes and distances as well as diving centres on all the beaches. The locals tourist office has an extensive website where you can find information on all kinds of services: typical restaurants with local cuisine, walking and cycling routes for all levels of fitness/ability, local shopping and a conveyor-belt of activities for all audiences, depending on the time of year. Palafrugell has several museums which you might like to visit: the House Museum of the writer Josep Pla, the Cork Museum and the Vila Casas Foundation Modern Sculpture Museum. An ideal peaceful corner for your stay in the center of l'Empordà and the Costa Brava. Ullastret is a village in the Baix Empordà district (Girona province), which is found 6km from La Bisbal de l'Empordà (district capital), 31km from Girona, 40km from Figueras, 60km from France (Le Perthus) and 130km from Barcelona. The wildest (the north) beaches of the Costa Brava are found 12km from the house. Ullastret is surrounded by Iberian and Roman ruins, of note are the Iberian village of Ullastret (less than 1km away) and the Empuries ruins (25km away). Ullastret keeps important medieval traces like the wall and part of the castle (Torreón-Cárcel), a Romanesque church and a Gothic market. It is a very peaceful village, of about 250 population, surrounded by fields, woods, small roads and rural paths.
