The property

Our Happy Place is a delightful lodge sitting on the South Lakeland Leisure Village near Carnforth, Cumbria.

With easy access to the coast, fishing lakes, and the Lake District National Park, the lodge provides a family of six with contemporary amenities, open-plan living, and off-road parking for two cars.

Arriving at the lodge you'll find a front decking area with rattan furniture and cushions to relax with a cold beverage after the day's adventures.

Inside, the open-plan living space has been beautifully appointed with stylish decor, a sumptuous corner sofa to sink into, and a Smart TV; start the electric fire for extra comfort on those colder nights!

Set the table for six, ready for dinner, which can be prepared with ease in the fully-equipped kitchen area, complete with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

After dinner, freshen up in the family bathroom with a corner bath, shower over, and heated towel rail.

All three bedrooms are lovingly furnished with storage space, bedside lamps, cushions and throws to make you feel right at home; the double bedroom has a wall-mounted TV with a stunning en-suite shower room, and there are two twin bedrooms to choose from.

Start your holiday by exploring South Lakeland Leisure Village with plenty of walks, fishing lakes, and the Waters Edge Restaurant to take a break from cooking.

The market town of Carnforth is a stone's throw away for supermarkets and traditional inns, as well as the Arnside & Silverdale AONB on its doorstep.

The little ones will love the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, whilst RSPB Leighton Moss and the Silverdale Coast are sure to please wildlife lovers and walkers.

A little further lies the bustling seaside town of Morecambe with a picturesque Promenade with plenty of entertainments, Morecambe Beach, and Morecambe Golf Club, whilst there's plenty of history to uncover in the city of Lancaster with a 12th-century castle and beautiful panoramic views from Williamson Park.

However, if you'd prefer to escape into the countryside, discover Ingleborough and White Scar Caves, the Ribblehead Viaduct, and plenty of footpaths through the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Forest of Bowland AONB is also nearby for walking or cycling through an unspoilt landscape, while the Lake District National Park is a short drive away.

Start your day out in Windermere with watersports and boat cruises along the spectacular lake, attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and Orrest Head Viewpoint, and historic sites including the National Trust's Wray Castle. You'll find plenty of scenic walks in South Lakeland from Arnside Knott to the more challenging Old Man of Coniston overlooking Coniston Water.

CARNFORTH

Capernwray 2.4 miles; Lake District 20 miles

Located just off the M6 and 20 miles south of the scenic Lake District, Carnforth is the sort of place that everyone has heard of, and many desire to discover this hidden gem. Situated at the north end of Morecambe Bay, north of the historic town of Lancaster, 15 miles from the winding lanes of the Yorkshire Dales and a hop and a skip from the Lake District, it is close to absolutely everywhere! Other local attractions include Greenlands Farm Village for crafts, local produce, a play area, café and a garden centre. The lovely area just north of Carnforth has tidal sands bordering the huge expanse of Morecambe Bay. It offers plenty of pleasant walks and opportunity to see local birds and wildlife in this fabulous area of Lancashire. Don't forget to visit the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.
