  • "Excellent location very close to Porthmeor beach but be aware that it's a Very steep hill to get there."

Didn't stop us going numerous times though both to beaches and to the centre of St Ives without needing to drive. Lovely garden and barbeque which gets the sun at various points in the day. The outdoor shower and toilet was very useful and still connected to the house across a very small covered outdoor part so not as outside as we'd feared. Plenty of kitchen things provided and all rooms very clean plus TVs everywhere if the weather doesn't provide. Main bedroom looking out over At Ives from rocking chairs was truly lovely.

  • "Ayr Farmhouse is in a great location away from the bustle of St Ives town centre but within walking distance of the town and the beautiful Porthmeor beach (up and down a steep hill!"

) There is a useful, local little shop opposite the farmhouse that stocked everything. The accommodation is spacious, clean, comfortable and of a high standard and the garden is a lovely retreat at the end of a beach day and a great place for children to play. The views from the master bedroom are stunning. Liz, the owner, was super helpful and welcoming when we arrived. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

  • "Lovely old farmhouse with great secure enclosed garden."

Everything we could possibly need for our stay was provided. Fantastic views from master bedroom of the coast. Only 5 mins walk to the beach and town. We all really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking again next year (2022).

  • "Great house, close to beach and town centre."

Plenty of exercise up and down the steep hills but that's part of St Ive's charm. Fantastic having such a lovely garden. House had everything we needed.

  • "The property is well equipped, clean, spacious, and with a quiet secluded back garden."

Having offroad parking is a huge bonus in St Ives. The location makes it easy to get in and out of town in a car, and it's a very short walk to the centre of St Ives. Perfect. The best property we've ever stayed in, and we've been coming to St Ives for many years.

The property

Ayr Farmhouse effortlessly blends its classic exterior with a contemporary interior, offering the best of both worlds.

Ideally-positioned just a stone's throw away from St Ives town centre and its famous coastline, it's an ideal haven for friends or family seeking an unconventional coastal getaway.

Upon entering the property, you'll be greeted by a generous living area complete with a large television.

Adjacent to this is a dining room graced by a substantial woodburning stove, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

An additional television ensures a homely feel.

The well-equipped kitchen allows you to prepare culinary delights with ease.

On sunnier days, you can take your meal to the garden and dine alfresco in the outdoor dining area.

As you ascend to the first floor, you'll find four bedrooms, each fitted with their own TV.

The master bedroom boasts a super-king-size bed and a special lookout window with plush loungers, offering breathtaking vistas of St Ives' iconic coastline.

The spacious enclosed garden features multiple seating areas and a designated sunbathing spot that captures the sun's rays, creating the perfect spot for relaxation.

An outdoor shower room is also at your disposal, making it convenient to rinse off after a sandy beach excursion.

If you can tear yourself away, the lively harbour and St Ives' four world-class beaches, including the stunning Porthmeor Beach, the town's most prestigious coastal spot, are just a short walk away.

Porthmeor Beach is a mecca for surfers and water sports enthusiasts, benefitting from south-westerly winds and the prestigious Blue Flag status.

Lifeguards are on duty from Easter to October, ensuring safety for all beachgoers.

The beach is framed by two rugged headlands and offers magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Within the narrow, cobbled streets of the town, you'll discover an array of shops, art galleries, inns, cafés, and restaurants waiting to be explored.

If you wish to venture further afield, the breathtaking St Ives coast road, renowned as Britain's most scenic coastline, will lead you to the surfer's paradise of Sennen, the legendary Land's End, and the one-of-a-kind Minack Theatre, an open-air amphitheatre ingeniously carved into a cliff face.

Experience all of this and more, with a stay at Ayr Farmhouse.

About the location

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
