  • "The lodge was filthy."

Dog hairs everywhere, stains on seating, crumbs and debris under sofa cushion. Carpets dirty. There were canisters left from previous occupant with coffee, solidifying in bottom of canister. We had to sit on towels There were only 3 usable mugs, lodge slept 6. Other mugs chipped and cracked. We contacted Sykes, were told they would supply more towels, they never arrived. Also told more mugs to be supplied, never arrived. They did say they’d send a cleaner, we left cushions off the sofa so they could see the problem, the cleaners came, removed one round stain on sofa, put all cushions back in place without cleaning underneath them. We did ask to be moved lodges, unable to offer anything else Very disappointing, we have been promised a small amount of compensation but this will not improve our thoughts on the lodge and we will never use Sykes again. Absolutely terrible stay and customer service

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your experience and so is the owner. Following your feedback, we can now confirm the cleaners have been changed and further cleaning has been completed. The Lakes Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "The lodge is in a great location but the cleanliness let it down."

Many stains on the beddings and towels as well as the bedding being damp on arrival. The lodge needed a thorough vacuum which should have been done before checking in.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments which we have taken on board. We are pleased to advise that we have secured a new cleaner for the lodge moving forward. Thank you once again and we do hope to see you again in the near future Kind regards The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Beautuful lodge situated in a quiet area of the park."

The lodge contains everything you need for a holiday. I would have no hesitation in rebooking this lodge when holidaying at Whitecross Bay.

  • "Living room chairs/sofa weren’t comfortable due to thin cushions, making seating hard."

Although the lodge is listed as pet friendly, the standard of cleanliness appeared unnecessarily low with various worn in stains on carpets and blinds and unclean surfaces.

Thank you for your comments. We take all comments on board, and will look into them. Thank you- The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "We stayed at the property for a short break with our dog over the Easter period."

It was a lovely cozy cottage and the 2 rooms were comfortable with own tvs and one with own toilet. The further 3rd bedroom was smaller but still comfortable and convenient when the kids wanted their own space. The cottage also had netflix and YouTube etc for older kids when weather wasn't great. Highly recommend and was a great stay in great location. . Short walk to marina nearby was a bonus.

  • "We couldn’t ask for more, the lodge was very modern with everything we could need."

the wine fridge came in very handy! it was clean and cosy and had the added bonus of youtube on the tvs for the children. it’s in a good location close to the entertainment but not too close. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you
