3 Customer Reviews

  • "The owner was extremely helpful and the accomodation was by far the best we have ever had in over 20 years of visiting Whitstable."

We spent a very enjoyable Christmas day hosting my wife's mother for a meal, cooked in the property's excellent and modern kitchen. Everything we needed was there, the location is perfect (right beside a bus stop, and a very short distance to the beach front) and the house was very cosy. A perfect stay!

Thank you for your review. I have aimed to make the house feel like "A home from home" for guests and your feedback goes a long way to achieving this. Happy New Year to you all and may it bring some peace around the world especially in the war zones thank you Marion Alvarez de la Gala Property Owner

  • "Could do with a privacy blind in shower room also Venetian blind to block out other residents along the rest of the lounge I presume as the property was left in excellent condition that no monies has been taken from the bond, please confirm."

  • "We were a family of 3 adults and 2 teenagers."

The property was excellent for us. Bus stop outside for trip to Canterbury. 5 minutes from the sea and 10 minute walk into town,. Walking up hill coming back. The owner was delightful and gave us lots of useful information. One request from the girls: they would have liked 2 pillows on all the beds.

Thank you for your feedback. There were spare pillows at the property but your comment about extra pillows was useful and there are now 2 on every bed. I should be delighted to host you in the future. Many thanks Maron Alvarez de la Gala the owner Property Owner

About the location

WHITSTABLE

Herne Bay 5 miles; Canterbury 7 miles.

The lively town of Whitstable, which is known as the “Pearl of Kent”, dates back to before the Domesday Book. Its seaside location makes it ideal for watersports all year round, and its fishing heritage is reflected by the Oyster Festival, which takes place every July. The buzzing local museum/art gallery introduces around six new exhibitions each year, and has a fabulous coffee shop. Whitstable Castle dates back to the 1790’s, and hosts events all year round including a big May Day celebration with contributions from local musicians and artists. The town is home to a small, independent brewery, and any need for retail therapy will easily be satisfied by the range of both national stores and charming small, independent shops. Whitstable is also home to The Pearsons Arm, a gastropub owner by celebrity chef Richard Phillips and nearby in Seasalter is the Michelin star-awarded gastropub, The Sportsman which is also well worth a visit. The city of Canterbury, with its fine 6th century cathedral is just 7 miles away; also nearby is Herne Bay, from where on a clear day you can see as far as Southend and the Isle of Sheppey.
