  • "A lovely cottage."

Very clean and well maintained. Just a short walk into the town centre and a beautiful park. Quite close to other areas like keswick and the coast. Only problem I had was tv wasn't working and didn't know who to contact about it. Made for lonely evenings as I was there by myself, otherwise a very pleasant stay

  • "Really enjoyed stay , just a quick message, we couldn’t turn tv off before I’ve left , no matter what we tried ."

  • "This property was a good location and didn’t disappoint."

Kitchen was well equipped, it had everything you needed. The bed was very comfy with soft pillows and duvet. The shower was amazing especially after a day of exploring. Everything in this accommodation was good quality and well thought off, including the USB plugs! I would love to come back at winter as it would be very cosy.

  • "Very convenient for dog walks by river and access to town."

Very comfortable bed and bed linen and fluffy towels.Kitchen and bathroom excellent. Maybe a couple of cushions for the sofa would be good but all in all a lovely place to stay.

About the location

COCKERMOUTH

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
