  • "The owners were superb in their kindness and attention to every aspect of our enjoyable stay."

The location was rural and peaceful and the owners helped us find a local walk from the door, so we did not have to use our car for the first few relaxing days. We had groceries delivered and planned our days out exploring the Wolds villages and walks. A much needed break, made more memorable by the patience and courtesy of our hosts, who even promptly returned an item we had inadvertently left behind at departure. Thank you again.

A glowing coal fire, a good book and hot chocolate - perfect! It was peaceful, toasty and snug - idyllic. The hosts were delightful too, very friendly and kind - but not intrusive. I will return.

  • "From The Netherlands we wished to visit the Lincoln area."

We booked quite late in the holiday season and expected not to find a quality cottage. However.....we found this: Pat's cottage (old rectory annexe). This was over our expectations! The room was very clean, the cottage very roomy offering that good kitchen (3 stoves!!), that large living room and the very large bathroom with shower and bath plus the very goodsized bedroom and bed. Everything looked new or newish, definitely no poor or damaged materials and inside the cottage there was very much daylight. Yes we were very happy with the cottage. Also happy we were with the owners. They are very kind and helpfull, they do communicate very well, they advise very good, and we felt very free to do whatever we wished there. The cottages plot is very green and very quiet with lots of unexpected birds and animals that have their habitat in the area. Yes, this was very, very good and much better than wehad expected! So can we advise? YES........YES OF COURSE! Loes and Ton Kramer from Zaandam, Netherlands.

  • "We greatly enjoyed our stay at Pat's Cottage."

Dream accommodation! Everything we could possibly want - property was spacious, clean, lovely decor, wonderful bathroom, kitchen facilities. The owners were super friendly very kind and welcoming and bent over backwards to be helpful with anything we wanted. We'd like to visit again if/when opportunity arises - Lovely part of Lincolnshire too - peaceful surroundings, large garden, lawns, landscape etc [ only one minor comment, and we've made this known to owners, that on arrival one doesn't at first realise that Pat's Cottage sits BEHIND the Old Rectory....you can't see it when you drive in at the entrance, so we think it could do with some sort of signage, visible from the gravel drive when you arrive by car - such as an arrow pointing to the cottage on the end of the garage block, though not on the front gate of driveway, as owners concerned about security and privacy ]

  • "We were only the second guests to use Pats cottage and it was super."

My wife is disabled and we therefore were restricted to bungalows but Jan found the cottage had a stair lift. We therefore had a very large lounge massive kitchen with annex and toilet, and upstairs only used at bedtime super bedroom and Hugh bathroom with toilet and shower and bath. All was to the highest standard. The gardens are lovely and have ample seating in different areas. This is by far the best Sykes cottage we have used and the hosts Anne and Martyn again by far the best we have met. Thank you. Jan and Neil Dyson
