Lovely cottage with all you need and very central for exploring Cornwall. We didn't take our dog but if you do you would need to check the gate is shut before letting it outside. Great to have the off road parking.

Thank you for the feedback, we always like to hear good things about our cottage. We are very happy that you found everything that you needed. We would love it if you brought your dog next time. Looking forward to your return. Property Owner

Difficult to find any fault with this property, everything has been thought of and there are some very nice extras including bottle of wine and dog treats on arrival The quality of the furnishings is excellent and it is very well equipped One observation though, it would definitely benefit from some form of blinds or netting at windows as there is very little privacy from people outside

Thank you for your great feedback and lovely comments. We are really pleased that you found everything that you needed. We do hope that you will come again soon. You will be made very welcome. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at old talbot cottages."

It was perfect for our family with a stair gate and high chair all set up for us when we arrived. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed including some board games and toys for the kids. We also found the email with local info and tips very helpful. The local curry house was delicious, as were the butcher’s pasties and the kids loved splashing in the shallow river in the village. Also recommend the ice cream shop. Can’t wait to come back.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are really pleased that you found everything that you needed, for yourselves as well for the children. We do hope that you will visit again soon. Property Owner

  • "This cottage is light, bright and modern inside yet still provides a cosy feel."

The owners welcomed us with a bottle of wine and the invitation to arrive earlier than stated once the changeover was complete. We appreciated all the little extras in terms of equipment that are really helpful on a self-catering holiday. Lostwithiel is central for the visits we needed to make to the South, North and West coasts so an ideal location It was carnival week while we were there and we thoroughly enjoyed the jazz band playing in the pub across the road. I would definitely recommend this comfortable accommodation to other families. Karen.

The property was clean and comfortable, having everything we could need for a week's stay. Lovely, well appointed, kitchen diner, lots of comfy seating in the living room. Very comfortable beds with duvets that were just the right tog for the season. Some great local pubs. Just a 2 minute walk to the recreation ground, and in the car park of the community centre some great pizza on Mondays and Mexican food on Fridays.

LOSTWITHIEL

Bodmin 5.5 miles; Fowey 7 miles.

A delightfully peaceful country town, nestling in the Fowey river valley amid the woods and fields that characterise the area. Renowned as a centre for the antiques trade, there are several shops and dealers in the town, as well as a fine collection of country pubs, restaurants and a thriving farmer’s market. Lanhydrock House (NT) and gardens is just 3 miles away, while the fabulous Boconnoc House, Eden Project, shipwreck museum and tall ships harbour at Charlestown, and the picturesque fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and Padstow, with the famous Rick Stein restaurants, are all within easy driving distance. The tumbling Atlantic surf, long sandy beaches and dramatic coastline of the north coast, including at the renowned Newquay, make for great days out and there is also chance to enjoy river canoeing, biking, hiking and leisurely walks in this lovely area. The friendly locals also have ongoing activities, such as the raft race, the famous tug of war, Carnival week and seagull outboard motor races. The river Fowey runs from the town on its 8 mile journey through the fields and wooded valleys to the gentler southern coast, a natural paradise for those who love the sea. Centrally placed, with much to do and see in the immediate area, Lostwithiel is the perfect choice for those seeking a break away from the hectic pace of the tourist resorts.
