Perfect hideaway for some peace and quiet. Cavan is a beautiful county full or rolling hills, scenic lakes and historic buildings. Relax and enjoy!

Had a great holiday, fantastic location very peaceful and relaxing lot of room inside and out Great for the dog no need to worry about traffic here There's parking for several cars and has a excellent outside but covered BBQ in case it rains There's a gravelled path from the house lined with trees which takes you down to the river only about 100 meters from house Ideal place for just sitting and chilling All facilities and mod cons inside Comfortable sofas and great views from every room Can't wait to go back , highly recommended

  • "We originally booked The Derries for 4 nights in October but extended it by a night because we were enjoying it so much."

The house is so lovely, warm and comfortable. It was very clean and has lots of mod cons - more than in most rentals. The beds are a little hard but waking up to the view more than made up for it. The setting is so quiet and peaceful. We relaxed so much during our stay. I'd 100% recommend this house if you're seeking peace and quiet in an extremely comfortable setting.

  • "We had a fantastic stay in the Derries."

The property is close to lots of great walks and attractions, but it's also lovely to just stay around the property and enjoy the views and the facilities. The house is really comfortable and has everything you could want, and the hosts were so kind and welcoming. A five star stay all round, can't wait to visit again.

  • "I have just completed a week's stay at The Derries and I recommend it very highly."

The cottage built by the owner is spacious, comfortable and very well-equipped with also a relaxing conservatory, a lovely veranda and a glorious view of the surrounding countryside. There are even barbequing facilities You can walk your dog in the nearby fields and by a river.. The hosts are most welcoming and very helpful. There are many terrific walks not too far away - see Walks in Cavan and Fleming's Folly in nearby Ballinagh is great. While providing remoteness and seclusion any shopping you need is not far away in Ballinagh. All round a five star rating. P.S. One travel tip. Unbelievably Garmin sat nav gives a wrong location reading for Ballinagh. It will take you - as it did me - to Ballinamore in a different county. Thank you Garmin. Go to Cavan Town and then either follow the signposts or Google maps. Michael T Foy

It was so peaceful and quiet and we all enjoyed relaxing and were able to get away from everything for the week. The house has everything you need for your stay and is comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back again.

We really felt like we were in our own little world. The hosts were very attentive and thoughtful and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is really cosy and spacious with comfy sofas and beds. The bbq and veranda make eating al fresco possible in all weathers. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend the property to anyone.
