An open unfenced private grassed lawn arear around the property please remember to clear up any dog fouling as this is also a play area for children. The property is situated on a working farm, whilst it is peaceful, some tractor noise will be heard during the harvest months, (late August to mid September and occasionally at other times, rarely before 9am and hardly after 10.30pm). Depending on the harvest there may be a need to run a grain dryer fan which can be noisy, however this is a reasonable distance from the cottage and should have no impact on your stay.. To allow the farm crops to establish, occasionally there will be bird scarers in use, typically this will be in late autumn and the spring. The bird scares are not located near the cottage but maybe audible when walking, they do not go off at night. They are blue and orange an located on the edge of a field.. Guests are very welcome to walk both the public footpaths and on our field margins. Dog mess must be cleared up within the grass land where the cattle graze (to prevent Neospora canium). While on the rest of the farmland please clean up after your dog if on the footpaths but otherwise your dogs are welcome to enjoy the freedom of the countryside.. During early Spring the cattle will not be used to humans and it maybe advisable not to walk in the cattle fields with young children. Due to the farm animals, guests are politely requested not to let off any fireworks or Chinese lanterns. Children and dogs are not permitted in the working farm yard.

This is a great base to explore the coast and country of Norfolk head to the coast and explore the sandy beaches or visit The Wash National Nature Reserve with nature trails visitor centre and cafe. Head to the Sandringham Estate with picturesque country house museum of royal life and 40 acres of gardens. A short drive to King s Lynn with shops and restaurants and a golf course for those who enjoy sports in nearby Downham Market and Kings Lynn. For those wishing to pursue country sports there is pay per day coarse fishing available at Woodlakes Manor Farm Lakes and the Great Ouse Relief Channel. Head inland to Thetford Forest Park for a day out with the family with trails and picnic areas and various activities for children and adults including archery. The peaceful and picturesque village of Syderstone is ideally located in the heart of the beautiful Norfolk countryside and is within easy reach of the coast which is just ten miles away with an array of fabulous sandy beaches including those at Hunstanton Brancaster Wells and Holkham. Hunstanton is a traditional seaside town and provides a wonderful family day out with a range of entertainment including a Sea Life sanctuary fun fair crazy golf course a leisure centre with pool bowling and beautiful beach front gardens. For nature lovers there are plenty of beautiful nature reserves in the area including Syderstone Common a short walk from the property which is home to the rare natterjack toad and the scarce woodlark. RSPB Snettisham and Pensthorpe Natural Park are also close by. Boat trips out to see the resident seal colonies near Blakeney Point are less than 20 miles away. The stunning Holkham estate covers an amazing 25 000 acres of land including the grounds of Holkham Hall beautiful pinewoods and the idyllic wide sandy beach at Holkham Bay. For the younger guests there is a children s playground just 300 metres from the property. Sandringham Estate is only 10 miles away. Guests will enter this cottage and arrive into a hall which has doors to the lounge dining room and kitchen.
