This property is located in the village of Lytchett Matravers in East Dorset within walking distance (1.5 miles) of the village pubs and shops. Just six miles south-east of the property is the coastal town of Poole which has no less than five beaches including the long sandy well-kept beach at Sandbanks from which it is possible to catch the chain ferry across to the National Trust reserve at Studland Bay. Located within Poole Harbour and easily accessible by a regular boat service is the quiet traffic-free Brownsea Island. Famed for its connections to the Scouting movement and known for its abundance of wildlife including rare red squirrels a day trip to the island is a must-do for visitors to the area. A set of stairs brings guests staying at this property from the car port to the front door of the first-floor apartment. There are exposed beams throughout the property and due to its location in the eaves of the barn conversion there are sloping ceilings and some reduced head-height but most visitors find this only adds to the charm.
