A traditional fishermen s cozy cottage with fire effect wood burner situated in the estuary-side village of Appledore in North Devon with shops bistros restaurants and the village quay (perfect for crabbing) all just a short walk away. This property is located in the fishing village of Appledore which has retained the traditional atmosphere of a slower pace of life of times gone by. In the summer months a ferry runs across the Torridge estuary to the village of Instow where there is a pretty beach as well as a yacht club and yet more eateries and pubs. Just two miles away visitors will find the impressive two-mile wide sandy beach at Westward Ho! which is a fantastic place for families beach-lovers and surfers alike. Skern Lodge an activity centre providing a wide range of outdoor activities is on the outskirts of the village. For families The Big Sheep and Milky Way are nearby and the renowned cobbled harbour village of Clovelly is well worth a visit. Or there is Atlantic Quay if some shopping therapy is required. This three-storey property offers welcoming accommodation with some attractive period features not least the exposed beams and the imposing stone fireplace in the lounge/diner which now contains a wood burner-effect fire. On the first floor of the cottage guests will find two of the three bedrooms the first of these being a king-size room which boasts attractive estuary views and its own TV. The second bedroom on this floor is a single room whilst a twin bedroom can be found on the second floor of the property which is accessed via steep cottage-style stairs leading directly into the room. The top floor twin room is a real hideaway with super views across the estuary and with TV and Nintendo WII available to entertain those kids! The bathroom which is on the first floor offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Outside there is a patio courtyard garden to the rear of the property with a table and chairs providing a great space to enjoy al fresco drinks. There is also a handy WC located off the courtyard also containing a small freezer.
