The cottage is located down a quiet single-track road just outside the village of Coniston. The village provides a range of amenities such as a choice of eateries and pubs as well as several shops and a boating centre from where guests can participate in a range of watersports including canoeing sailing and stand-up paddleboarding. For those who want to enjoy a more idyllic view of the lake there are a number of leisurely boat trips available not least the trips offered by the beautifully restored Victorian steamer. The village is also known for its rich history and the interesting Ruskin Museum takes visitors on a journey through the village s past telling the stories of three well-known local figures: polymath John Ruskin author Arthur Ransome and sportsman Donald Campbell. A short single-track lane track leads you to the period property which dates back to 1850. Parking can be found at the rear of the cottage and several stone steps lead from the road to the patio garden at the front of the cottage.
