On the border of the departments of Yonne and Nièvre, on the outskirts of the quiet village of Lautreville you'll find this rural holiday home: the perfect base for exploring the Morvan. Special and comfortable holiday cottage by a river. An old water mill, a mill and a bakery house on 8 acres of land in the south-west of Burgundy. The former home has been renovated into a beautiful holiday house. On site live only the helpful, Dutch owners who will gladly give you tips about the area. You have lots of privacy, there is no visual contact between the houses. Hiking is possible in the immediate vicinity. Or drive to the Morvan (20 km) where many paths have been layed out along the varied landscape. A nice day trip, is a trip along the Route des Grand Crus. On the way there, stop at one of the wine chateaux, to, for example, sample a good Chablis. Bourbon-Lancy (6 km) is a small town with a medieval centre. Here, you will find thermal baths, a natural pool with a small beach, a large playground and a golf course (9 holes). In the village of Maltat there is a supermarket. In the city of Autun (53 km), be sure to pay a visit to the Saint-Lazare Cathedral. Autun also has great shops and restaurants. Larger cities such as Macon (118 km), Nevers (67 km) and Moulins (44 km) are also easily accessible for day trips.

La Canarde is a former sheep barn, built in the early 18th century. It is on the edge of a wood and in a high position. The house enjoys splendid views of the valley in almost every direction. There is a large jeu-de-boules alley behind the house. You'll find a delightful, unenclosed orchard with apples, pears, cherries, quince and kiwis a little further away. The house is surrounded by the large wine areas of Burgundy. These include Chardonnay, Macon and Beaujolais. Historic medieval towns such as Cluny and Macon are not far. Autun and Beaune are a little further north. Lyon is just 70 km away. The town of Taize is a ten minute drive.

This beautiful country house (1850) sits on a very well-maintained private estate. The tasteful decor harmonises with the style of the house and there is a game room with a billiard table. There are fruit trees and a large pond where you can fish. A little river (the Aron) flows behind the garden and you will occasionally see boats passing by on it.
